Hot-pressing is well suited for textiles.

Hot stamping is well suited for workwear, sportswear and various design shirts.

Hot-pressing is a method of producing a graphic on a textile using high pressure and heat. This is how thermofilm, printed hot-pressed film and laser film are applied to fabric.

Hot stamping is mainly used for printing logos on workwear and promotional clothing.

Well suited for printing sponsor logos, numbers and names on sportswear and team uniforms.Hot-pressing can only be used for materials that can withstand high temperature processing. When positioning the image, care must be taken to ensure that the product can be placed under the press (this may be hindered by buttons, buckles, locks, etc.). A3 size is recommended. Image files can also be used here and this is the most economical way to apply an image or a multi-colour logo to a textile. Hot-pressing principle: the image is printed on a special film and pressed onto the fabrics under a hot press at a temperature of 100°C to 150°C. This is the most economical way of printing on textiles. Suitable for workwear, sportswear, design shirts.

Advantages of hot-pressing:

Can be printed from logo to photon, fast turnaround, can be printed in silver as well as gold, neon, chrome gold and more. The range of colours and other options available from manufacturers is very wide and often the customer doesn’t even realise that there is a choice of colour. For an overview of the colours, you can visit this Sisers colour guide.

Disadvantages of hot-pressing:

cannot be printed on all materials
– e.g. fleece and other non-smooth fabrics, woven fabrics
– heat resistant materials e.g. some synthetic fabrics
cannot be printed over uneven seams, edges, etc.
cannot be printed on cotton lined jackets, as satin melts when exposed to heat
cannot be dry cleaned – to keep the logo print looking beautiful, clothes should be washed on a delicate cycle at 30°C
